about

According to Nick Leet...

One night my wife and I were watching the movie "Adventureland". I wrote this song immediately after the movie ended. It reminded me of working at a late night truck stop at the age of 18. My shifts would end at 3AM and we'd go hang out in the parking lot all night or head over to someone's house. I would drive home in the morning with the sun glaring on my over tired eyes. My dad would be in the shower getting ready for work. I would turn on VH1 and fall asleep in my basement bedroom until about 3PM in the afternoon and do it again the next day. I'm surprised they never kicked me out of the house. It was my first taste of freedom. What a summer.
