about

According to Nick Leet...

I'm a very open person and have never been shy about laying out everything I'm feeling in a song. With that said, this is one of the very few songs that makes me uncomfortable and I knew it would be. I was having a rough day feeling really bad about myself and the state of things and this came out very quickly. I remember listening to the demo the next day after I felt better. I cringed at the lyrics. I made a decision that day that if it made me uncomfortable it was because it was coming from a real place and I rolled with it. It sill makes me uncomfortable all these years later.

I asked Caitlin Cary from Whiskeytown to pay violin on it and she knocked it out of the park. It was a high point in our time as a band. Those Whiskeytown records have been following me for years and are some of my favorite records. It was a real honor to have her on one of our records.
