about

According to Nick Leet...

I believe Ben came up with the main guitar part as well as the clean leads if I'm not mistaken. I wrote the lyrics and original bass player Jon Tranberry added the chord change on the last chorus.

I referenced a small church on the Northside of my hometown of Surrey, ND. I was always fascinated by the small cemetery next to it. I'm not even certain if anyone ever went to that church. It seemed abandoned.

lyrics

She's blowing smoke
and I'm blowing it
You know she's cold and grey like Memorial Day

and it's alright
you know it's alright
if you don't know me at all

We bury our hearts
deep in the graveyards
walk six blocks to the end of this town

when you're young you know your heart will break
when you're old, you know nothing will change
there'll be times when your heartaches
it's hard to admit it but you know you're gonna live it down
