about

According to Nick...

This song, like many on the record, were written about a break-up. I'm telling myself to take a deep breath. It's inspired by a John Lennon & Yoko Ono postcard. 3 years after writing this song I would have "Breathe"engraved on my wedding ring. I figured it was good advice to myself.

lyrics

I won't let you break
Your voice makes me shake
I'm gonna give you away
I'm in charge, up to my neck in your debt
Keep away from me
Keep away from me

I've got a postcard that says breathe

Breaking the patterns where nothing really matters
ain't that easy to break
Habits are built, sweet cherry guilt
is gonna take you away

darling
breathe
darling
When you go to sleep
Miss Amphetamine
Miss Amphetamine
