about

According to Nick Leet...

Power Pop superhero, Tommy Keene, was a friend of the band. He passed away Thanksgiving of 2017. I was at my in-laws when I took a peek at Facebook and saw that someone had posted RIP Tommy Keene. I was numb the rest of the night. I emailed him but never got a response. I wrote this song as an an homage to him and his musical stylings.

lyrics

Maybe you'll be here
and maybe they won't
selling out to someone else's ghost
You pay the dues
like you pay the rent
You can't tell me that this what you dreamt

I can't hold out hope forever
is it worth it?
Lead me on to sink or swim
no one's listening

This wait and see that you you're doing to me
It's got my heart on work release
you got me sunk
Who's side you on?

I've got this feeling
That's deep in my throat
Like something that'll never ever go
I wait for answers
While I waste my prime
I seem to do this every single time
